Ingredients:
- 500 g fresh anchovies
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup vegetable oil (for frying)
- Lemon slices for serving
Instructions:
- Clean the anchovies and rinse thoroughly. Drain well.
- Mix cornmeal, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
- Coat the anchovies in the mixture and shake off excess flour.
- Heat the pan and add oil.
- Arrange the anchovies in a circular pattern. When one side is golden, flip the whole layer with a plate.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges.
